Fiskari Henric Johanpoika

Henrick Fiskari (Husband) was the father of Henry Fiskari who married Gustava Rimpila, sister to Andrew K. Rimpila. Andrew Rimpila married Maria Emelia Pajumpa at a very early age as he was being pressured into marrying Jenni Fiskari. Jenni Fiskari had one child out of marriage named Nestor Fiskari. They came to America in 1879.

Henrik Fiskari came to America in 1879 from Finland. He came with his wife, Elsa Annala Fiskari and three children; Jenni,Frans and Henry. Henrik was born 5 September, 1830 in Liminga, Finland. His wife was also born in Liminga, Finland on 28 June,1840. The Henrik Fiskari Family homesteaded eighty acres in Section 14 of Leaf Lake Township on 23 July, 1885.

Henrik and his son, Henry, worked for the railroad in OtterTail County. Henrik deeded the farm to Henry in 1886. He died at the age of 93, on 13 May, 1923. At the age of 91 he mentally counted the days he had lived, which came to 33,333 days. His wife Elsa died 27 November, 1920.

Jenni, a daughter of Henrik was born in Finland in 1867. She died in 1898. Jenni had one son, Nestor Fiskari who was born8 February, 1894. Nestor lived in Leaf Lake Township most ofhis life. He died on 20 October, 1976. Frans, a son of Henrik was born in Finland in 1873. He died in 1897.

Henry Fiskari, son of Henrik, was born in Liminga, Finland on17 February, 1864. He came to America with his parents in 1879.Henry married Gustava Rimpila on 22 October, 1887 in New YorkMills, MN. Gustava was born in Lohtaha, Finland on 1 August,1872. Henry and Gustava farmed on the Fiskari homestead alltheir life. Henry died 3 June, 1938 and Gustava died 27 September,1932.

Henry and Gustava had thirteen children, all born in Leaf LakeTownship. The first child, Maria, was born on 24 March, 1890.She died 1 April 1891.

Hilma was born on 14 August, 1891. Hilma married Nestor Fraki.They had nine children and farmed in Leaf Lake Township. Shedied on 15 November, 1970.

Lydia was born on 9 April, 1893. Lydia married William Tumberg.They had nine children and farmed in Otto and Leaf Lake Townships.Lydia died 16 February, 1961.

Severi, a son was born 23 July, 1895. He married Hulda Haapalakso.They had only one child and they lived in Leaf Lake Townshipuntil Severi's death 30 October, 1918.

Abner was born 26 May, 1897. He married Hilda Tapio. They livedin Otto and Deer Creek townships and Abner died 11 August, 1941.

John was born 2 August 1899. He married Edna Ruonakoski andthey had four children. John worked on the railroad and farmedin the New York Mills, MN area. John died 1 September, 1982.

Esther was born 10 January, 1901. She married Richard Tumbergand they had six children. They farmed in Deer Creek township.

Harry was born 5 August, 1903. He married Hilma Hentila andthey had four children. They farmed in Leaf Lake Township.

Ida was born 2 June, 1905. She married Hjalmar Tumberg, a brotherto William and Richard.

Three of Henrik's daughters married three Tumberg brothers.

Hjalmar and Ida Tumberg farmed in Deer Creek Township but nowlive in New York Mills. They had twelve children.

Signe was born 27 September, 1907. She married Oscar Ambergand they had three children. They farmed in Newton Township.

Antti was born 19 July, 1910. He died 1 November, 1918.

Einar born 25 May, 1912 and Sylvia, born 8 June, 1915, bothstill live on the Fiskari Homestead. Sylvia married RudolphKeskitalo and they had eight children. Sylvia and Rudolph'ssons are presently farming the homestead with Einar. This isthe fourth generation that is farming the Fiskari homestead.

Henrik and Elsa Fiskari had 3 children, thirteen grandchildren,fifty six great grandchildren, 192 great great grandchildren,133 ggg grandchildren and 5 gggg grandchildren.

Henry Fiskari, born in Liminkan pitajassa Oulun, Laanissa, Finlandcame to America to Hancock, Michigan 23 June, 1873, then toNew York Mills, Minnesota.
